Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 20, 2026

Our Commitment

Jermaine Jefferson is committed to making this website and its member programs accessible to people with disabilities. We aim to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for websites. That includes visitors who use screen readers, magnification, voice input, or keyboard-only navigation.

The Accessibility Toolbar

Every page on this site, public pages and the member portal alike, has a round accessibility button in the lower right corner of the screen. Select it to open the accessibility toolbar. From there you can:

  • Make all text larger, in three steps up to 150 percent.
  • Turn on high contrast so faint text becomes stronger and easier to read.
  • Switch to an easy-read font designed for readers with dyslexia or low vision.
  • Underline every link so links are never shown by color alone.
  • Reduce motion, which stops animations and smooth scrolling.
  • Turn on a large mouse cursor.
  • Highlight keyboard focus with an extra-thick outline.
  • Add extra line spacing and letter spacing.

Your choices are saved on your device and stay on for every page and every visit. A "Skip to main content" link is the first item on every page when navigating by keyboard: press Tab once when a page loads, then Enter.

Measures We Take

  • Sufficient color contrast between text and backgrounds.
  • Descriptive alt text for meaningful images.
  • Properly labeled form fields for screen readers.
  • Keyboard-navigable components across the site.
  • Semantic HTML heading structure.
  • Responsive design that works across devices and zoom levels up to 200 percent.
  • Visible focus indicators on interactive elements.
  • Closed captions turned on automatically on embedded videos whenever captions are available.
  • Page changes announced to screen readers as you move through the site.
  • The "reduce motion" setting on your device is honored automatically.

Known Limitations

Some areas may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Not all older video content has closed captions or audio descriptions, and some third-party embedded content (such as YouTube videos and Stripe checkout) is subject to those platforms' own accessibility implementations. We are actively working through these.
